Istanbul Nightlife
Like most major cities around the world, Istanbul has a vibrant and colourful nightlife with something to suit all tastes. Unlike many other large cities though, a night out in Istanbul doesn’t have to cost a fortune, though Istanbul still has its share of exclusive and expensive places too!

Where is Istanbul’s Nightlife?
In truth, you can find nightlife in just about every corner of Istanbul so you are never far away from a lively bar or club! For the best choice of places to visit though, consider staying in a hotel in Istanbul which is in the area called Beyoğlu as this is the city’s entertainment centre.

The greatest concentration of restaurants, bars and clubs is on the famous Istiklal Caddesi (or Avenue), so if you want to be right in the heart of all the action stay in one of Istanbul’s hotels along this street. If however you prefer to be near the nightlife but not right on top of it there are also many other hotels in this part of Istanbul which are within walking distance. At one end of the Avenue, for example, you have Taksim where many of the popular hotels in Istanbul are located.
On Istiklal Caddesi you’ll find rock clubs, jazz clubs, R&B and Hip Hop Clubs, trance and techno music clubs and dance music clubs and many of these feature live bands regularly.
Traditional Turkish
If modern music isn’t your thing and you want to experience the more traditional side to Turkish music there are places around Istanbul where you can do this also. One such popular place is called Sal, and this is situated in a street off of Istiklal Caddesi so is perfect if your Istanbul hotel is in this area.

For those who prefer to stay in an Istanbul hotel on the historic peninsula there are numerous bars, restaurants and places of entertainment to enjoy here too. You may be lucky enough during a visit to the famous Cağaloğlu Hamami (Turkish bath) to see and listen to some traditional live Turkish music being played in the Hamami café.
You don’t have to have a Turkish bath either to be able to go into the café! Whether you want to stay in a hotel in Istanbul which is in the centre of the nightlife or one which is in a quiet residential street, there are always plenty of Istanbul hotels to choose from.
