Historic Sultanahmet Peninsula

The Old City of Istanbul is where you’ll find most of the major attractions for tourists, including Aya Sofya and the Blue Mosque, and there are many tourist oriented Istanbul hotels here too.

 

Sirkeci and Eminönü

These two areas are a good alternative for tourists as you’re still close to the attractions and there are some good Istanbul hotels to choose from here. You’re also right near the ferry terminal, Topkapi Palace and the Golden Horn.

 

Beyoğlu

The Beyoğlu district includes a great many of the hotels in Istanbul and is a very good location to make the most of the modern city, yet it’s still close enough and well linked to the old city too.

 

Taksim

Located within the Beyoğlu district, Taksim is the major commercial centre of the city so business travellers may wish to choose a hotel in Istanbul in this area.

 

Şişli

Şişli is the place to choose an Istanbul hotel for excellent shopping, with the biggest shopping mall in Europe being here, this is good for both business and pleasure tourists.

 

Lâleli and Aksaray

Further up the historic peninsula, these two areas are good for an Istanbul hotel which has great transport links yet is near the Grand Bazaar and the other major tourist attractions too.
