Istanbul European Side Hotels

When you visit Istanbul you’ll find that most of the tourist attractions and commercial parts are on the European side of the Bosphorus, although the Asian side is still very attractive and well worth visiting too!

Advantages with Booking European Side Hotels in Istanbul

Most of the well known Istanbul hotels are on the European side and you have a great many to choose from. The main advantage with staying in a European side hotel is that you can fly to Istanbul’s main international airport, Istanbul Ataturk. Airlines from all over the world land here so you’ll always have a good choice of flights to choose from.

There are a variety of European side hotels around the airport, though if you’re coming in to the city itself the journey is very easy as the airport is well linked by public transport to all of the popular Istanbul hotel areas.

European Side Hotels in Istanbul – the Different Regions

Istanbul is a big city and has many regions which all have something different to offer the visitor. Where you choose to stay in an Istanbul hotel will really depend on your main influence for visiting the city.

Taksim is a popular area. This is the business and entertainment heart of the city and where you will find a high proportion of the European side hotels. Taksim also makes a good base from which to explore the rest of the city, whether you’re strictly a pleasure tourist or here on business.

The Sultanahmet Peninsula is the historic heart of the city and this region too has a high concentration of European side hotels. This is probably the best area to choose an Istanbul hotel to stay in if you’re here solely for the sites, as the majority of places to see are within this region.

If you’ve come to Istanbul for the great shopping you may want to consider staying in two different Istanbul hotels on the European side. In Sultanahmet you’ll find the amazing Grand Bazaar where you can buy everything typically Turkish and much more, whilst there are modern shopping malls around the city too, the largest of which is Akmerkez in Etiler.

Another area you might like to consider for your European side Istanbul hotel is Bebek – this is a very attractive up-market part of the city. Staying in an Istanbul hotel here gives you a true taste of the wonderful Bosphorus!
