Beyoglu Hotels
Beyoğlu is a district on Istanbul’s European side, just across the Golden Horn from the historic parts of the city, though in actual fact there’s quite a lot of history here too! As a district, it actually contains Taksim so has a lot to offer the visitor looking for a well positioned Istanbul hotel.

Why Choose Beyoğlu?
This district encompasses one of the city’s most popular destinations for hotels in Istanbul, Taksim. Whilst towards the Golden Horn there are many other areas of interest for those looking for an Istanbul hotel too.
The area was formerly known as Pera and was very cosmopolitan in years past, though in the 1970’s and 1980’s it had fallen into decline somewhat. However, since the 1990’s the area is being rejuvenated and is once again a cosmopolitan area with people from all cultures and backgrounds coming together here, and it has become the art, entertainment and night life capital of Istanbul.
There are some interesting ways of getting around this neighbourhood too. A restored historic tram travels up and down the main street, İstiklâl Caddesi (Avenue), so whether your Istanbul hotel is at one end or the other, travelling is easy. Also at one end is the Tünel which takes you down or up the hill to the Horn, making it very easy to get to the major tourist attractions of the city.
Nightlife and Entertainment
If you’re looking for a hotel in Istanbul which is near all the action, this is where you’ll find it! İstiklâl Caddesi is the city’s main entertainment street with countless bars, restaurants and clubs to enjoy by night, and café’s and attractive architecture and shops by day.
Choice of Hotels
All along the main routes going up from the Golden Horn you will find a variety of good Istanbul hotels to choose from. One of the smartest hotels in Istanbul is here – the Hotel Pera Palace, built in 1892, was where Agatha Christie wrote ‘Murder on the Orient Express’. The hotel was actually built to accommodate passengers from the Orient Express.
This is one of the most expensive hotels in Istanbul, so if this is a bit beyond your budget for staying in (as it is for most people!), you can still pop in for a coffee or to view the room in which Christie stayed in.
Don’t worry though, there are also numerous other hotels available to suit all budgets in this area too!
