Review Istanbul Hotels
Affordable And Elegant
Located across the Blue Mosque on the Hippodrome stands the Turkoman Hotel. As a writer I appreciate the location of this Istanbul hotel in the Old City as it allows me to wander the streets on my own time and accord without feeling rushed to catch the next tram back to the New City. In 1989 it was restored and converted from an old Ottoman mansion to a modern hotel and the range of antiques and decorations here are simply stunning. It is definitely a unique Istanbul hotel to stay at, and if you want something close to history then the Turkoman is it.
This Istanbul hotel has twenty guest rooms in four different styles. All of them have antique Turkish carpets on the floor and antique furniture to enjoy. They come equipped with central heating, split AC, en-suite shower and toilets, hair dryers, satellite television, telephone and handmade herbal soaps for all of the guests to enjoy. The bigger rooms include a PC for guests use, bathtub, mini bar, and DVD player. Depending on the room you choose to stay in, you may even get a view of the Blue Mosque. I prefer the corner rooms, but then that’s just me.
The Turkoman Hotel has a very nice rooftop terrace where breakfast is served every morning for the guests. Unlike some other hotels, the terrace is opened all day long and guests can enjoy drinks or just taking in the view if they want. The hotel offers free safe deposit boxes at the front desk, wireless internet, fax, dry cleaning, laundry, ironing, a doctor if needed, airport transfer services and assistance with travel and entertainment arrangements. What this hotel lacks in amenities it makes up in its affordability, and personal attention from the staff. I highly recommend it for all types of travellers.
