Review Istanbul Hotels
Charming And Personable In The Old City
The Sari Konak Istanbul hotel is a very interesting, small hotel located in the Old City of Istanbul. The name Sari Konak means ‘Yellow Mansion’ and that’s exactly what this hotel has been built in – a refurbished Ottoman mansion. It’s a very charming and personable establishment in the Old City and since it is so small, only 17 rooms, it’s also full of very personal service from the staff. It’s really a nice place to stay if you want to be close to all of the attractions yet stay someplace that is very ‘Turkish’ in feel.
I loved the way my room was decorated and even though I didn’t stay in one of the suites – a standard room was more than enough for me as I didn’t need a Jacuzzi bath or kitchenette – I was still very comfortable and slept well. The room was cosy and it had an en-suite bathroom complete with a hair dryer, telephone, and television. This Istanbul hotel has a rooftop cafe where you can see the Sea of Marmara and the Blue Mosque. Drinks are available all day at the hotel and you can get a light snack in the evening. During the summer – and I missed this as I was there in the fall – breakfast is served in the garden courtyard.
One thing I really thought was nice about this Istanbul hotel is that there was wireless access all over the hotel and there is a computer for guests to use if they have not brought their own. There is also laundry and ironing services available and the staff here will help you with booking and reservation services. If you are really looking for a nice place to stay in Istanbul, then the Sari Konak Istanbul hotel is a good choice.
