Review Istanbul Hotels
Historic Home Makes Wonderful Hotel
If you weren’t immediately looking for the Hotel Ibrahim Pasha, you might just walk past it thinking it is just another house. That is what happened to me as I was looking for the hotel, and the fact that it is small and unobtrusive in the heart of Istanbul’s Old City makes it one of the best choices for people who like the small establishments that are off the beaten track. This Istanbul hotel is on a side street within walking distance of major attractions such as the Blue Mosque which guests can see from the hotel’s rooftop terrace.
I am a novelist and I came to Istanbul to start working on my next book. The Old City is great to get some inspiration from and I wanted a smaller hotel that would be personable and private. This Istanbul hotel fit my needs perfectly and couples who want a romantic getaway should stay here. There are 16 rooms here, 4 of which are deluxe rooms with a seating area and sofa sleeper. All of the rooms are very modern, clean, and sharply decorated with very high quality linens and towels and attached bathrooms. They all come with hair dryers, AC, under floor heating, safe, LCD TV, telephone, mini bars in the deluxe room, and free wireless internet. I stayed in one of the deluxe rooms simply to have some room to spread out my notes.
A buffet breakfast is served in the very nicely decorated and comfortable lobby which also acts as a café and bar during the day. There is a rooftop terrace that you can enjoy, especially when the sun is out and the day is warm, and the scenery is beautiful. The lunch and dinner menu isn’t very big, but if you enjoy experiencing new food, you’ll have trouble with the many eateries that are found in the area.
