Review Istanbul Hotels
An Interesting Use Of Old Architecture
One of the most unique hotels that can be found in Istanbul is the Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul. Now, by all accounts, Four Seasons’ hotels all over the world are excellent accommodations and this Istanbul hotel is no different. What’s really neat about the Four Seasons is that it once was a Turkish prison, one that had been converted into the hotel. Its 65 rooms and suites are set in an open courtyard with excellent service and rooms that are decorated with attention to detail. Our room included a mini bar, 42” plasma TV, DVD player, and Bose CD. Even the bathroom had an LCD television, something that intrigued our 4 year old daughter. She enjoyed taking a bath while watching ‘The Wiggles’.
The Istanbul hotel’s square shape made it easy to navigate and it is definitely family friendly. My wife and I were able to enjoy the Health Club and Spa while a trained member of the hotel staff watched out daughter. There are plenty of children’s amenities and activities available at the Four Seasons, and every time we left her with the staff she came back excited to tell us about her day. She loved the fact that she got her own child-sized bathrobe and child friendly toiletries as well as milk and cookies for bed time. The staff made her feel as special as we did and if for no other reason than that, we would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Istanbul.
This Istanbul hotel is located in the Old City which made it nice when visiting some of the many different historical places, such as the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. We visited both the Grand Bazaar and the Egyptian Market while we were here and while the hotel is smaller than many others in Istanbul and offers less amenities than most, their services, including the way they treated our little girl, made it the best in our opinion.
