Review Istanbul Hotels
Great Food And Superb Location
My wife and I are getting older and our pocketbooks don’t stretch quite like they used to. So when we decided to take a second honeymoon to celebrate out 50th wedding anniversary we agreed to visit someplace new. We chose Istanbul, Turkey and the Istanbul hotel we chose was more than fantastic and affordable. It’s a little place called the Erboy Hotel that is in Sirkeci within walking distance of all the major attractions like the Topkapi Palace, the Aya Sofya, and the Blue Mosque, all places we wanted to see.
Now, when we say small, we mean small as compared to many other larger places we have stayed at over the years. The Erboy has only 85 rooms and all of them are nicely decorated and very comfortable. They all have attached bathrooms with hair dryers, and there are satellite televisions and direct dial telephones in each room. Wake calls and room service are also available and we did use both. The personnel were very nice and accommodating.
This Istanbul hotel also has two nice restaurants, one of which is an open air establishment from June to September. The other restaurant, the Pasazafe, is on the ground floor of the hotel and it mimics an Ottoman Street through the 19th century. Additionally, the glass doors open in the summer and the staff puts dining tables on the streets. The food is traditional Ottoman cuisine and they have a wonderful breakfast buffet. All in all, the Erboy is a very nice place to stay. Clean, accommodating, and with a wonderful location.
