Review Istanbul Hotels
Blue Mosque Location At A Great Price
When I first started researching affordable accommodations in Istanbul for my vacation, I came across the Best Western Obelisk Hotel. This great place was once a 19th century Ottoman mansion that was purchased by the Best Western chain and converted into a 41 room hotel. Each of the rooms has been decorated in a classic Ottoman style and they all include modern bathroom facilities. They also have wireless internet, AC, hair dryers, mini bars, central heating, cable TV, telephone, and great views depending on the room you stay in. Plus there is also 24 hour room service.
This neat Istanbul hotel is located in the Old City but on one of the back streets that keeps it nice and quiet for the casual traveller. It’s also close to the historic attractions with the famous Blue Mosque being within walking distance. You cannot miss this Istanbul hotel as the facade is a yellow coloured wood. It has a rooftop restaurant and bar, and when you eat your meals up there you have a great view of the Sea of Marmara, the Bosphorus, the Asian side of the city, the Aya Sofya, and, of course, the Blue Mosque.
Best Westerns are always great hotels for affordable prices and this one is no different. It has a really nice lobby with seating areas and a bar where you can enjoy an evening drink. The restaurant and cafe both serve open buffet breakfasts and Turkish meals throughout the day. They also offer guests currency exchanges, airport transfers, and laundry and ironing services. Adventurous visitors will be happy to know that they can easily get to Taksim from here if they want to taste the nightlife of Istanbul.
Definitely two thumbs up for the very comfortable and affordable Best Western Obelisk.
