Review Istanbul Hotels
Converted House Makes Unique Hotel
The Avicenna Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey, is noticeable right off the bat in the Old City because of its unique construction. This Istanbul hotel was once a traditional Turkish wooden house from the 19th century that was painstakingly converted into the 48 room hotel that is known in the Old City today. The hotel’s complete renovation was finished in 2008, and as part of the team that helped refurbish the place I was excited to stay there and see how it turned out during my most recent trip to Turkey.
I was not disappointed. The whole hotel was finished in a marvellous mixture of modern and traditional styles, giving this Istanbul hotel a totally unique look that cannot be duplicated. The Sipsi Bar and Restaurant where breakfast is served in buffet style, and Turkish and international cuisine is on the menu for lunch and dinner, is chic with its blue and white. The lobby is done in shades of purple and cream with comfortable seating areas for relaxing and catching up. The Inner Garden is also a wonderful place for taking some coffee. In addition to these beautifully decorated areas, guests have access to the internet, currency exchange, safe boxes, laundry services, car parking, and 24 hour tourist information.
All of the rooms are en-suite and there are three different types ranging from standard to Executive. All of the rooms come equipped with telephone, hair dryer, AC, LCD TV, telephone, mini bar, wireless internet, and safe boxes. The Elegance rooms and some of the standard rooms have balconies, and all of them are decorated in a combination of chic and traditional with bright colours and sharp contrasts. Overall, this is one of the best 3 star Istanbul hotels you will ever stay at.
